GIRLS Raceland 54 Fairview 23

WESTWOOD Raceland coach Ron Keeton pointed to his team’s spot-on shooting as the key to quickly propelling the Lady Rams well ahead Fairview on Tuesday.

“I talk like a broken record, when we shoot the ball well, we’re a pretty good basketball team,” Keeton said. “Tonight we came out early and shot it well. It fed onto the defensive end of everybody being solid, giving up one shot, doing a great job on (Jordan) Rakes, who is a tremendous player.”

Morgan Curley posted a gamehigh 13 points and nine rebounds. Emilee Garvin and Kierston Smith supplied nine apiece. Lauren Runyon and Chloe Collins collected eight rebounds each. Raceland (9-13) has now won 31 of its last 33 meetings with Fairview. The Lady Rams have won three of four following a 1-5 stretch. They will host Lewis County in a 63rd District duel on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
