RACELAND Russell’s volleyball team is riding a rare streak.

The Lady Devils haven’t lost a single set since Aug. 25. Since then, they’re 9-0 with nine consecutive 3-0 victories, including Thursday’s 25-12, 2513, 25-19 triumph at Raceland.

Russell is now 19-0 against 16th Region opponents. Its only set losses in those matches — just three — came in bestof- three events.

Grace Satterwhite tallied a team-high six kills on Thursday as Russell improved to 5-0 against 63rd District foes. Kate Ruggles had four.

Satterwhite added four aces. Sadie Hill and Ruggleschipped in three apiece.

McKenna Barfield and Ruggles each accounted for three blocks.

“We took care of business, but that does not mean I am happy,” said Russell coach Tiffany Perry. “Our passes were not where we needed them to be tonight, and we have some things to work on as far as coverage goes. Bottom line: We need to work to improve.”

Russell (21-2) and Raceland (7-11) will both compete in the Lady Lions Invitational at Boyd County on Saturday.
